Gary Nixon is our Guru. We have done a  lot of ICELT\CELTA courses together as well as many in-house teacher training courses. He has inspired us by doing professional and quality training  for our teachers. This is what he says about himself: I started teaching English as a foreign language in 1988 in Japan. I became a teacher trainer in 2000 and have loved doing both ever since. I have trained teachers in many countries, including Brazil, New York, Morocco, Dubai, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
I have continued to learn from every teacher I come into contact with and have used this to help to update my qualifications, including my TEFLA, DELTA and two PGCEs in Education. These have enabled me to train teachers from many different disciplines, from builders to accountants, in addition to English language teachers.
From 2015 to 2019 I was the main tutor on the ICELT courses at Queen’s English in Moscow and am very proud of the developments that had taken place to the course. It is a high level, intensive course really tapered to the needs of Russian teachers of English. Now CELTA will be supporting people in making  new relationships with English that keeps my passion for training and teaching burning.

This is Brendan McEvoy and this is what he says about himself: I have been teaching for more than 20 years.  I graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in Teaching English as a Foreign language.  I was later awarded the Cambridge ESOL DELTA by IH London.
For the last 12 years, I’ve been training teachers, firstly with Trinity TESOL and more recently with Cambridge CELTA.  I greatly enjoy helping teachers develop their skills and watching them improve.  I always try to make teachers and students feel relaxed and to provide them with fun and engaging training sessions.
I also have extensive experience as an IELTS examiner for the British Council.  I use my knowledge of the exam to train teachers how to effectively prepare students for IELTS and also how to grade students’ performance.
Outside of work, I have a keen interest in fitness and enjoy long distance cycling.

My teaching story goes back to my graduation day in 1992 when I became a specialist in teaching English with a diploma from Moscow State Linguistic University. That was the first time  I felt the responsibility of becoming a teacher.
Over the years, I have acquired not only  teaching experience but a growing responsibility as well. Very soon I realized that learning is more important than teaching and that was our starting point with our partnership with Cambridge.
Gaining CELTA, ICELT and then becoming a qualified Cambridge tutor were significant points in my teaching career at Queen's English.

Hi, I am Tyler, Canadian. I am  a language skills coach and CELTA\ICELT  trainer based in Istanbul. I have mentored students between the ages of 4-64 from all walks of life in Ankara, Moscow, and Istanbul. My areas of specialization include learner skill training, motivation and learner mindsets, goal setting, autonomy, and fostering learner confidence.
As language is a tool that enables people to connect and collaborate with each other to share talents and skills, I create the teaching experience as one of continual learning.
I am currently spreading awareness about the culture of learning through my blog on learning strategies.

Hi. I am based in the Department of Quality Assurance and Improvement at Lewisham College London.
I work as an improvement practitioner and a lecturer in Teacher Education. I have been teaching since 2006 and have taught ESOL, IELTS and EAP in further and higher education sectors in the UK and UAE. I am a CELTA trainer and I also teach on PGCE (Level 6 teacher training course) programme offered by Canterbury Christchurch University UK. I hold 2 MAs in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics, CELTA, DELTA, PGCE, TKT, and DTELLS (subject specialist Diploma in Teaching English). I am currently working on my doctorate and my research looks at the politics of quality improvement policies in Further Education.
The key question that drives my research is how quality assurance and improvement policies, such as classroom observations, are linked to teaching practices. Last year, in July 2018, I presented my research paper at ARPCE international Conference at Oxford university. I will be coming to Moscow to run summer 2020 CELTA courses.

Мне в жизни очень повезло: я оказалась в нужный момент в нужном месте!  Я пришла в Высшую Школу Лингвистики получать новые знания, и теперь эта школа стала для меня местом работы и вторым домом! Я филолог по образованию, поработав в школе, ушла в бизнес. Жила и работала в разных странах, везде чувствовала себя как дома, потому-то могла общаться. Это счастье общения давало мне знание английского языка, который учу с 7 лет и не останавливаюсь. И вот настал момент, когда я решила, что хочу делиться своими знаниями с теми, кто мечтает овладеть этим удивительным языком, чтобы смотреть кино и читать  книги в оригинале,  слушать  музыку и понимать каждое слово. Чтобы, приехав в любую страну, свободно общаться и находить новых друзей. Радость преподавания заключается в том, что, приходя на урок, ты со  слушателями  совершаешь  чудесное и увлекательное путешествие по бескрайним просторам английского языка! Приходите к нам в Школу, и мы отправимся в это увлекательное путешествие вместе!

Увлечение английским началось в далеком детстве, когда мне подарили стопку ярких книжек на английском языке из недоступной тогда Великобритании. И вот уже более 30 лет преподаю английский язык, кроме педагогического университета еще Кембриджские сертификаты TKT и ICELT, учеба в Лондоне(курс для преподавателей) и Эдинбурге( advanced) и много еще разных курсов и сертификатов. Учиться не перестаю, последний сертификат Proficiency получила в июле.
Мне нравится применять новые методы и технологии, учебники, видео, игры – все , что может помочь моим слушателям быстро и успешно овладеть языком.

Hi, I am Natalia, based in Moscow. I am a staff teacher in the Institute: Higher School of Linguistics. I graduated from Moscow State Linguistic University in the faculty of linguistics and intercultural communication in 2002, then spent about four years working in a business environment. Although the experience was very valuable, I came to realize that this was not my cup of tea and decided to try teaching. I was very much aware of the responsibility and challenge involved in this work, but the appeal was also very strong for me as I was convinced it suited my character better. Having taught English for some years i felt I wanted something new, so I completed a course in teaching Russian as a foreign language, which was an exciting experience of using English as a tool to teach my mother tongue to multinational groups of students from all over the world. I have experience in teaching English to both adults and teenagers. I have grown to love teaching. It is both rewarding and addictive to see your students achieving goals, making progress and broadening their horizons in general. It’s a mutually enriching process as I also learn a lot from my students in language, culture and in other spheres of life. I hold ICELT as an international Cambridge certificate.

Мечта сбылась, когда устроилась работать в крупную туристическую компанию. Почему все-таки вернулась в преподавание? Чувство, которое испытываешь, когда с твоей помощью человек начинает успешно осваивать иностранный язык, сравнимо по силе с ощущением взобравшегося на вершину путника. Это смесь восторга и усталости. И понимание, что впереди новая дорога и множество разных вершин.
Преподавание- увлекательный процесс, всегда новый и динамичный. Ведь обучая студентов, преподаватель продолжает учиться сам.

Свою преподавательскую деятельность начала в 2004 году будучи студенткой 3 курса факультета иностранных языков Московского государственного гуманитарного университета им. М.А. Шолохова. В 2008 году прошла 6-недельный курс английского языка для бизнеса в школе LSI Брайтон, Великобритания. В 2015 году сдала международный экзамен TKT (The Teaching Knowledge Test) Modules 1,2,3. В 2018 году прошла курс ICELT для преподавателей английского языка, позволяющий расширить знания теории и практики преподавания.
По жизни мой девиз: Замечательное чувство - знать, что ты сам строишь мир. А при работе со студентами больше ориентируюсь на то, что в каждом человеке есть солнце – только нужно дать ему светить.

Hi, I am Natalia. English literally shapes my environment; I just can’t stop grasping all it suggests. Books, TV shows, and music are my daily musts. I am fascinated by the language, especially the colloquial one and the variety of colours and emotions that it expresses. I love sharing my ‘little discoveries’ with students. I have done ICELT, TKT modules, a Diploma in teaching English as a foreign language in Moscow Teachers’ Training University.  I love working with the language and teaching it to my students.

Сколько себя помню, всё время учу и учусь в режиме non-stop. Окончив университет, мне посчастливилось работать  среди  тех, для кого творческий подход к преподаванию языка был в приоритете, нежели слепое следование всем  образовательным стандартам, по которым до сих пор работают наши коллеги в школах, вузах и т.д. Проработав в некоторых вузах нашего края (Ставропольский Государственный университет, Филиал Московского Государственного Лингвистического университета в г. Михайловске СК, Южно-Российский Государственный институт) в качестве ассистента кафедры, старшего преподавателя, заведующей кафедрой и защитив кандидатскую работу, я поняла, что самый лучший способ проявить себя и быть нужной другим - это обучать тех, кому  хочется, а не приходится изучать  язык. Сегодня  у меня своё любимое дело. Вокруг меня настоящие профессионалы.
