CELT-S - Certificate in English Language Teaching - Secondary.
Курс проходит на платформе, разработанной международными специалистами для учителей средней школы из разных стран.
CELT-S состоит из 8 модулей, каждая неделя примерно расписана так: теория на платформе, практика и выполнение заданий, просмотр уроков от кембриджских тьюторов, прохождение материала в индивидуальном режиме, оформление выполненных заданий в портфолио.
На курсе повышения квалификации присутствуют все аспекты коммуникативной методики для работы по школьной программе: чтение, слушание, письмо, разговорная практика, грамматика.
Практика преподавания включена в курс. Вы записываете три видео урока со своими учениками и загружаете их на платформу, где тьюторы их оценивают и дают обратную связь.
Module 1 - Managing the Secondary Classroom
In Module 1 we cover classroom management in the secondary language classroom. We look at the physical environment and how teachers interact with learners in the classroom.
Module 2- Language Learning and the Teenage Learner
In Module 2 we cover learning, language learning and the teenage learner. There is a key emphasis on engaging learners in their learning. We consider how to motivate learners, taking account of their individual needs, interests and learning preferences.
Module 3 - Developing Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Skills in the Secondary Classroom
In Module 3 we cover how to help learners with language skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. Unit 1 focuses on the receptive skills: listening and reading. Unit 2 focuses on speaking and Unit 3 on writing.
Module 4 - Language Awareness for Teaching
In Module 4 we help you refresh your own knowledge of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. You’ll revise the terminology that teachers use when they talk about language: you’ll need this terminology for later modules of the course. There will also be opportunities for you to research areas of language, both within the lessons and in the portfolio task.
Module 5 - Developing Language use in the Secondary Classroom
In Module 5 we cover teaching language (grammar and functions), vocabulary and pronunciation. The module includes 3 units with 3 lessons in each unit.
Module 6 - Planning Language Learning in the Secondary Context
In Module 6 we look at different approaches to planning lessons. You will look at key principles and specific techniques. The module covers planning individual lessons and planning a scheme of work.
Module 7 - Resources for Learning in the Secondary Classroom
This module looks at how you can make the best use of all the resources available for use in your teaching. In the module you will look at different types of materials and ways of using them effectively in your own context to motivate and support your learners.
Module 8 - Assessing Language Learning in the Secondary Context
In Module 8 we cover how to assess learner language. Unit 1 focuses on the principles and purposes of classroom-based assessment, Unit 2 focuses on tools for classroom-based assessment, and Unit 3 focuses on using formative and summative assessment with your learners.

Module 1 covers classroom management in the secondary language classroom, looks at the physical environment, deals with the way teachers interacts with the learners
Videos of live lessons of experienced teachers are included in the Module 1 for participants to watch
